Post-Jam Thoughts
Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to make a post that could act as a progress update, and a sort of ramble about what I thought about the jam.
Summary at the end
1. First and foremost, I just want to thank everybody that took the time to download and read through my first published story. I'm not gonna say that this is the best story, but it is a very personal story for me. I am happy with the story that I had made and that I was able to keep it as a short story. Usually whenever I think of a story I make a crazy timeline for the world and want to expand on it. (This world still has an expansive world, buuuuuut that will be for another story lmao.)
2. Second, this is still a work-in-progress. What I mean is that I am still working on it, and I will continue working on it (Like I said on the main page), but of course, things are not always smooth. I am in college at the moment, and the week and a half before and after the jam ended I was constantly doing school assignments so I wasn't able to polish the actual Visual part of the story. What you got was a scrambled attempt that was made in 3 days (The story was done in the first week of the jam starting). I feel bad about a lot of things about it, like no music during the whole thing, no special CG's (which I know isn't necessary, but I have some ideas that I want to make for it), and no special BG's that would actually help you get immersed into the world. Now I decided that I wanted to practice on my drawing skills since I haven't drawn anything in like 3 years lol. I am not the best at drawing, nor will I be when the new drawings for this get done. That being said, I have thought long and hard about the ending of this story and I believe I am ready to finish it. Hopefully I will be able to finish it before the month is over, if not, it will be done and uploaded next month.
3. Third and last, my thoughts about how I did on the jam. I'm just going to say this very concisely, I do not think I did well lol. From me procrastinating to scrambling at the end, I could have done more and polished more. I am happy however that I actually released something. Last year during November I had decided to make a story for the Novembear jam. I had gotten the motivation to do it and I had actually written quite a lot, but issues arose, sicknesses and holiday mental stress hit me hard and the project screeched to a halt. It also didn't help that the artist that I was working with at the time as well had gotten sick as well and was not making anything that they were happy with. So the project has essentially been postponed until I feel like I would be able to work on it again. In comparison this jam was better than the previous one in my eyes.
So in summary, Thank you, I am still working on this, and I am somewhat happy with what I have made.
